The FBM242 P0916NG provides sixteen independently isolated discrete output channels designed for external power sourcing. An external voltage supply (typically 15–60 V DC) is switched by the module to energize field loads. Associated Termination Assemblies expand the capability to include relay outputs for 120 V AC/125 V DC or 240 V AC applications.
Each channel is galvanically isolated from the others and from module logic. The card executes the Discrete Output or Ladder Logic application program and supports configurable fail-safe states. It mounts on a standard 200 Series baseplate and communicates with the FCP over the redundant 2 Mbps Module Fieldbus. The design is rated for Class G3 harsh environments and requires no field calibration.

Each P0916NG unit is powered on a dual 24 V supply and verified for Module Fieldbus communication. All sixteen channels are then switched under rated load current while on-state voltage drop, leakage, and isolation resistance are measured. Fail-safe configuration behavior is confirmed. ⚠️ External field power is mandatory. The FBM242 does not source the load current. Without a correctly wired external supply through the Termination Assembly, the outputs will appear dead even though the module itself is healthy and communicating.
PRO TIP: Match the Termination Assembly to the actual field voltage. Solid-state TAs are limited to 60 V DC. Relay-style TAs are required for 120 V AC or 240 V AC loads. Installing the wrong TA is a frequent cause of non-functional or damaged outputs.
