Large process plants rarely keep every controller and I/O cabinet in the same electrical room. The ABB cRBX01 solves this challenge by extending the HN800 remote I/O bus over fiber optics, allowing distributed equipment to communicate as though it were installed locally.
Designed for ABB Symphony Plus SD Series and HR Series controllers, the cRBX01 requires no application changes or special configuration. It transparently forwards HN800 bus traffic, making it an effective solution for remote substations, turbine buildings, and widely separated process units. It can also extend the CW800 controller bus for peer-to-peer communication.
